DOXIE GRANDDAWG SHADOW IS SLEEPY!

Our doxie granddawg Shadow is 14 1/2 years old, so he's entitled to taking naps whenever he wants, right?

In the photo below, it was about 11:30 last night, so of course he was a bit sleepy.  We all laughed at this photo, dubbing it his "bat impression."

THANKSGIVING IS ALMOST HERE!

I've been so busy finishing up A DACHSHUND'S TRIBUTE and promoting DACHSHUNDS FOREVER that I have somewhat neglected posting on my blogs.  Sorry, folks!

With Thanksgiving almost upon us, it is a great reminder to give thanks every day for the many blessings we have and often overlook:  health, family, food, a home, and friends.  And let's not forget our beloved pets.  I am very thankful for Duke; he makes me laugh every day :).

DO YOU LIVE IN GERMANY OR FRANCE?

  

To all my readers in Germany and France, I have now completed my author page on Amazon.com in those countries.  I had already done the author page for the UK recently.

Since I lived in both of those countries as a child, I feel a special kinship with the Germans and the French.  And, I happen to know that they love dachshunds just as much (or perhaps more) than we do here in the U.S.

The paperback version of DACHSHUNDS FOREVER is nearing its publication date; I am merely awaiting the final proof.  And, the Kindle version will be released on Oct. 17, but pre-orders are taken now.

I'm excited to announce that the long-awaited Book 3, DACHSHUNDS FOREVER, will be released in a matter of weeks. 

The cover is still in the tweaking stage, but it does it catch one's eye.

The featured doxies are my own granddawg Shadow (upon whom the doxie "author" Sarge is based), and my beloved doxie Duke.  Handsome, aren't they? 

The smaller photos on the cover represent an adventurous trip out West that these two precocious guys took in a motor home (with some of their humans, of course).  You'll love reading about what and whom they encountered along the way, written in Sarge's own entertaining doxie style.

Book 4, A DACHSHUND'S TRIBUTE, will follow closely behind this book's release.  Therefore, you might be able to get both on Amazon before Christmas!

Shadow and Duke

Several readers I met at a recent book signing asked about the status of this book, so I promised I would keep them posted. Therefore, here's my DACHSHUNDS FOREVER update:

I now have 120,000 words and still have a few chapters to go. Therefore, I will probably split it into two books, because I simply don't want to say good-bye to THE DACHSHUND ESCAPADES!  In fact, I already have a title for Book 4:  A DACHSHUND'S TRIBUTE.

Piper

There is so much I want to include in this supposed-finale of the series! I have already written in more of Papa Duke's stories, Sarge's encounter with "Elvis," his long RV trip out west, his take on several of his human family's birthday parties, and his training and mentoring of Duke.

Tate

Sarge's humorous shenanigans with the family's felines are also chronicled: Piper, Aslan, and Tate and Joey, whom he dubs the "Fuzz Brothers."

Joey

I plan on finishing the manuscript very soon, then complete my editing, tweaking, and rewriting--then it's off to my editor at OakTara.   Sometime after that, DACHSHUNDS FOREVER will enter the publication process and become a book, in both paperback and e-book editions.
