HAPPY MONDAY, DOXIE STYLE

Another week, and we’re into August already! Pretty soon, it will be pumpkin everything, so for those of you who love summer (students included), enjoy it while you can!

And, it’s Monday, as you probably already knew before seeing this blog post 😊. We have a fresh new week to begin, and I hope it’s a good one for you. Personally, I’m looking forward to cooler temps (low to mid 80s). I’m not really an outdoor person since bugs bite me relentlessly and sunshine burns me, so I stay indoors a lot during these hot and humans Southeastern summers.

Happy Monday, doxie lovers!

THE DREADED BATH

Most dogs hate getting baths as a general rule, but a few unusual canines actually like getting wet.  The photo below covers just about every doxie attitude about bathtime, so I thought you doxie lovers out there will enjoy it.

I believe this would be a NO

Thrilled to be swimming/bathing
The best part? A nice, warm towel after the bath

How does your doxie view baths? Leave a comment in the section below this post. I'd love to hear from you.

AGE OLD QUESTION

Image may contain: meme and dog, possible text that says 'EXCUSE ME? Adventures of Kishka ARE YOU GOING TO EAT THAT?'

That's the question on every doxie's mind when they see a human eating something, right? Most dogs feel the same way, but doxies have turned it into a science, or even an art form.

Further proof:

And there you have it. Doxies are driven by their keen noses, so if something smells good to us, you know that with their olfactory sense being 10K or more stronger than ours, it REALLY smells good to them.

AN ETERNAL TRUTH HERE . . .

Image may contain: meme and text

All I can say to that is: AMEN!

Doxies are quick, they are always hungry, and they can hear the fridge opening from a mile away, even if they are dead asleep when we tiptoe into the kitchen are ever so quiet!

BUT . . .

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em!  They're human in fur and four paws.

EXCELLENT POINT!

We all know how much dachshunds love to go outside in rain or cold . . . NOT. This meme perfectly shows us what they are probably thinking when we do!

TODAY IS NATIONAL DRESS YOUR PET DAY

Image may contain: text

So . . . are you gonna do it?  Some doxies HATE wearing clothes--my doxie Duke did. But they're so cute when they are dressed up.

If you have a cute photo of your doxie all dressed up, share it in the comments section below. We'd all enjoy seeing it.

BIG THINGS COME IN SMALL PACKAGES

"What? You're fully grown and only
this tall?? Geez. Sorry, lil' buddy."

What that Great Dane hasn't yet realized is that this doxie THINKS he's a big as the Dane--who will find out soon enough who's boss, right?

HOW TO DECORATE A CHRISTMAS TREE

With doxie ornaments, of course!  I must confess that I have only ONE doxie ornament on my tree. After Duke passed, I haven't felt the urge to buy more, but that doesn't mean I don't still love doxies!

I've scoured the net, and here are some lovely doxie ornaments for you:

Weekly meeting of the

Who knows what's going on in those doxie heads? This "committee" is quite possible, I'm sure!

DANDY DOXIE DUDES: "STEPPIN' OUT" IN TUXEDOS!

Here are some really handsome doxie dudes ready for a holiday or a night on the town. They look like they KNOW they're handsome--and we can't argue with that.

After being dressed up as who knows what for Halloween, and soon to be dressed up as turkeys, elves, pilgrims, or reindeer and Christmas trees, it's probably a welcome change to be handsome.
Rock on, doxie dudes!

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END

Doxie lovers:

Have you ever wondered what dachshunds think about us humans?
❤️ A DACHSHUND’S MERRY-GO-ROUND LIFE was a labor of love for me, but also a bittersweet task as I completed this final book of Sarge’s tales about his zany family (which also happens to be my own family ðŸ˜Š). Sarge’s special doxie insights and his love for humans—in spite of their flaws—resonate with doxie lovers, because they already understand how clever dachshunds are!

Book 5 of
THE DACHSHUND ESCAPADES

❤️ The golden thread of unconditional love woven throughout Sarge’s stories encourages and uplifts readers as they smile at his comical antics. True to his breed, he is driven by his love for food, and his
nose sometimes gets him into trouble.
❤️ Sarge’s colorful characters leap from the pages of his books, forever enshrined in this memoir. From his humans to the animals—Duke his doxie protégé, the six conniving cats (remember the Fuzz Brothers?), Gizmo the annoying cockatiel—all make his charming but unique family memorable.
❤️ Now a mature doxie, Sarge sees Mama, Daddy, and his three human siblings (growing so quickly) in a new light, because life is rushing by and he savors every moment. And, he entrusts his title of Grand Dawg to Duke, well trained by Sarge and ready for the task.
❤️ Notably, his beloved Papa Duke (my own late father) forever remains Sarge’s favorite human—in fact, since Papa understands Sarge so well, he bestows the title of “honorary dawg” upon Papa, a high compliment.
