We’ve bought so-called indestructible dog toys for our doxies in the past (we currently don’t have a fur baby), and they tore those things up in under five minutes. No joke.
Especially with squeak toys, I think their strong prey drive is the culprit. Bred to hunt badgers, doxies have many traits suited for that purpose:
•strong prey drive
•fearlessness/courage, often taking on animals twice their size if they’re threatened or believe their humans are threatened
•stubborn, meaning they won’t give up (have you ever played tug-of-war with a doxie? ‘Nuff said)
•determination to pursue what they want
Therefore, a poor toy doesn’t have a chance with these athletic and sharp-toothed hunters! Good thing they’re also loving and cuddly, isn’t it? Happy Thursday, FURiends ♥️
