DOXIE MAMAS AND BABIES

There's nothing sweeter than a doxie mama and her babies, so today's blog post is dedicated to adorable pictures of them. Enjoy!

THEY SAY BLONDES HAVE MORE FUN . . .

English cream dachshunds, or blonde "bombshells," are relatively new and rare in the doxie world. Back when my family got our first doxie in Germany when I was nine, we only saw the red standard smooth coat variety. You've come a long way, baby!

When we were looking for a dachshund puppy, we ALMOST got an English cream smooth coat puppy--the breeder (don't worry, she was AKC certified) had a litter of those, and they were gorgeous. But our hearts were set on a black and tan smooth coat, JUST LIKE our granddawg Shadow. Duke was the only male black and tan she had at the time, so he went home with us. After all, he had peed on my hand when I picked him up, so we bonded right away, LOL!

Enjoy these English cream beauties below. And in case you're wondering, I have no idea where you can get one. You could google "English cream dachshund puppies for sale" in your area--that's a good place to start.

Enjoy your weekend, doxie lovers. We are going to our daughter Holly's house tomorrow--my younger brother and sister-in-law are stopping by there on their way home to NC from Florida. And, we get to see Sunny, Bruno, AND the grandchildren!  We only wish Kurt and Bethany could come, but AZ is a bit far for the weekend.

PUPPIES, PUPPIES, PUPPIES!

To me, puppies of any breed are just about the cutest thing in the world!  But doxie puppies hold a special place in my heart--we adopted Duke when he was only eight weeks old, and boy, was he a cutie!

Puppies have such wonder in their eyes regarding the world around them. They are happy tail waggers who want to explore everything, and don't mind crawling over their siblings to reach it!Their barks and howls are so endearing, and the way they pile up together when they get sleepy, too.

They do like to chew, however, so it's best to put Aunt Isabella's hand-crocheted doilies away and out of a puppy's reach.

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em (especially puppies).

AH, THOSE DACHSHUNDS

What a sweet doxie family! And the puppy is adorable . . .

As you probably know, I'm kinda partial to the black and tans with a smooth coat since my Duke as well as my granddawg Shadow are both such.  I do think all the other doxies are beautiful too, of course.
