AH, THOSE BLACK-AND-TAN DOXIES!

Granddawg Shadow resting

It's no secret that I am kinda partial to black and tans, because my doxie and my granddawg doxie are both black and tan. Oh, I love every doxie, and they're all my favorite, but there's just something about those black and tans:

CREAM, ANYONE?

Cream dachshunds seem to be all the rage right now, and they are beautiful. When we adopted Duke, there was a litter of creams, and we were almost tempted to get one of those instead. ALMOST.

You see, our granddawg Shadow was (and is) a black and tan, and we wanted a doxie just like him. So there you have it--Duke the black-and-tan dachshund. He owns the place, too.

DACHSHUNDS FOR EVERYONE

One thing (of the many) that I like about dachshunds is their variety in size, coat, and color. Both my granddawg and dog are black and tan, smooth coat, but there's longhair and wire-haired as well.

Colors range from solids to speckled to dappled and piebald, and all varieties in between. No matter which one you prefer, they all have that same doxie face and can make all those comical expressions we've come to know and love.

Which is your favorite?

THE MANY FACES OF DACHSHUNDS . . .

No matter which type of dachshund you see, they are all so very special in their own way.  Which one do you like best?  Since both my granddawg Shadow and my own doxie Duke are black and tan, I will have to go with that variety!
