Our daughter who owns Shadow our granddawg posted this photo on Facebook early this morning, so I had to share it with you! The caption read "Shadow doesn't want to get up this morning." Isn't that 100% doxie?
Duke is not a morning dawg, either; in fact, he stays under a blanket until afternoon. Oh, he'll crawl out when we eat something, he hears a loud noise outside, or he suspects the mailman is making his rounds.
This trait is not confined to Shadow and Duke by any means. I quickly found other doxie photos that confirm my post:
Perhaps there is something to that old adage: "Let sleeping dogs lie." Certainly, they don't get into trouble or mischief while sleeping.
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em!
