TUCKERED OUT . . .

Duke is all "tuckered out" on Christmas Day after the festivities of the day with all the family here: daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and his buddy Shadow.

EVERYONE HAS A TWIN

The pics above of black-and-tan doxies look so much like our Duke that I did a double take on them!

Now, the real Duke pictures are below, both as a puppy and as he is today:

Uncanny, isn't it??

DACHSHUND HOMECOMING

I played this video here at home, and our doxie Duke started barking when he heard the doxies in the video!

A soldier is welcomed home by his two doxies after being on a tour of duty for eight months.  So heartwarming!

WHY I LOVE CHRISTMAS

"For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him."  John 3:16-17

DOXIE PICTURE FRAME

This beautifully-crafted picture frame sporting three doxies is another great gift for the doxie lover.  In fact, if my family is reading this post, this is a hint that I wouldn't mind one of these for Christmas myself.

It would look very nice on my desk, too . . .

DACHSHUNDS ARE EVERYWHERE!

Here's yet another Christmas idea for that doxie lover:  a carved toilet seat cover sporting a doxie image!  Looks well crafted, too.

I like it.

INTRODUCING THE "COPY EDITOR"

This doxie pic was just too cute to pass up--after all, since my books are written from Sarge's viewpoint, it would stand to reason that his copy editor would also be a dachshund, right?

After all, only another dachshund could truly understand the inner workings of the dachshund brain--that is, unless you happen to be a human who loves dogs so much that you can relate just what they're thinking :).

That would be moi!

MAYBE NOT FOR CHRISTMAS . . .

Wow, I love these flip flops!  Maybe not the perfect Christmas gift, but keep them in mind for your doxie-loving friends for next summer.

RESCUE A PET FOR CHRISTMAS!

This picture says it all--why not rescue a dachshund for a wonderful Christmas gift to that dog lover on your list??

WHO ENJOYS BEING "CORNY"?

Yes, I actually have these dachshund corn holders--and they are very sharp, perfectly capable of piercing even the toughest ear of corn.

Clark got me those, along with doxie salt and pepper shakers.  Maybe he'll get me dachshund dishes for Christmas :).

DOG SENSE

A Nativity Scene was erected in a church yard.
During the night, someone came across this.
An abandoned dog was looking for a comfortable, protected place to sleep. He chose baby Jesus as his comfort.
No one had the heart to send him away so he was there all night.
We should all have the good sense of this dog and curl up in Jesus' lap from time to time.
This is too sweet not to share.
No one mentioned that the dog breed is a "shepherd!"

CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR OFFICE WORKER

I had to take a second glance at this dachshund--it looks so real.  It's a cubicle sitter for those who work in office cubicles. What a neat idea for an office!

You could even decorate the dawg for the seasons:  a red bow or Santa hat for Christmas, a New Year's hat, a pilgrim hat for Thanksgiving, a Halloween costume, a cupid costume for Valentine's Day--well, you get the idea.

It would certainly be a great conversation piece at the office!

"DACHSING" THROUGH THE SNOW

A Facebook friend posted this picture on my timeline--I'm glad that when people see dachshunds, they automatically think of me.

Merry Doxie Christmas!
