Nobody’s happier than a happy dog, especially a doxie! They simply have that “joie de vivre” quality, a glow that’s infectious. These happy, smiling dawgs are guaranteed make you chuckle, or at least smile 😊.

WHAT IS A DACHSHUND?

I can personally attest that all of the above traits fit dachshunds to a "T"!

"Heart of a lion" - Yes, they think they are just as big as any other animal, and act accordingly;

"Brain of a fox" - Especially when it comes to obtaining human food of any kind.  Duke knows that if he "does his business" while outside, he'll usually get a treat.  That swindler sometimes barks to go outside, but will then just stand there awaiting the magic word:  T-R-E-A-T.

"Body of a sausage" - That one is self explanatory.  Dachshunds are also called "sausage dogs," and I imagine they would eat sausages, too, if given to them!

"Bark of a doberman" - By all means.  I've written often about how surprised visitors to our home are when they finally look down and see lil' ol' Duke and realize HE was the one doing that extremely loud barking.  And two or three dachshunds together sound like 50 dogs.

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em.
