Dachshunds perform and very helpful and appreciated service in this world: ridding it of unwanted bits of food that fall in their vicinity. Isn't that thoughtful of them?

TURKEYS AND DACHSHUNDS
This doxie has hit the jackpot on Thanksgiving, apparently. That's a mighty big chunk of meat for a small dog, but he'll manage, I'm sure.
Or how about these "helpers" in the kitchen? Dachshunds are chow hounds extraordinaire, and we doxie lovers/owners know it!
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em.

C'MON, LET'S MOVE IT, MOVE IT!
Here's the secret to getting a stubborn dachshund to come back inside--at least, it works like a charm for ours:
The voice is my hubby's (Clark). Note that our dachshund Duke does not hesitate at all :). When he goes "out back," a.k.a. downstairs, he knows he'll get a treat when he comes back up. Smart chow hound extraordinaire, eh?
