
It's no surprise to doxie lovers that dachshunds have been known to take on animals that are twice their size--or much larger. Outgoing to the point of brashness, dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers, who are no shrinking violets themselves.
Doxies make watch dogs, be they on the lookout for their human or their favorite toy. They just don't have the size to back up those egos, and can get seriously injured. Therefore, we have to watch out for them.
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em.
