POLLEN: THE BANE OF SPRING

This spring is our first one here in Middle Georgia, so my husband and I were quite surprised to see pollen everywhere already! With temps in the 60s today, spring has definitely sprung down here! Oh, we love all the beautiful flowering going on, but some people have a hard time with their allergies during spring.

Certain plants are worse than others. Here are the top allergens found in North America:
  • ragweed: throughout North America
  • mountain cedar: Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas
  • ryegrass: throughout North America
  • maple: throughout North America
  • elm: throughout most of North America
  • mulberry: throughout the United States (but rare in Florida and desert regions of the country)
  • pecan: Southeastern United States
  • oak: throughout North America
  • pigweed/tumbleweed: throughout North America
  • Arizona cypress: Southwestern United States

In any case, I suppose pollen is the price we have to pay for all the beauty of spring. Grab your allergy meds, tissues, and enjoy!
