Most everything is ready in our home for this most important holiday to Christians--the house is decorated, inside and out, the presents are bought and wrapped, the menu is finalized, plane tickets have been purchased (our daughter and hubby are arriving Christmas Eve), church Christmas specials have been attended, and WE ARE EXCITED about the holidays!

We'll have family with us for most of the time from Christmas Eve until after New Year's, which is the way we like it in the Hinton household. The grandchildren and granddawg Shadow are staying with us Dec. 28-30 for their parents' anniversary trip to Pigeon Forge, TN.

Oh--and our wedding anniversary is on Dec. 20. Clark and I will probably just opt for dinner at a nice restaurant. It's too close to Christmas to even think about going anywhere overnight! We didn't think about that 45 years ago, because he had just returned from a year's deployment to Vietnam and we wanted to get married before Christmas! I wouldn't change a thing.

Doxie lovers, may you and yours have a blessed and enjoyable holiday season. Dachshunds--ya gotta love 'em.
