WAITING FOR HIS BUDDIES . . .

Here's Duke when he was awaiting the grandchildren this week.  We never tell him they're coming beforehand because he goes nuts:  barking, running back and forth from the window to us, whining, and so on.

He gets so excited when they visit because he knows they will play with him as much as he wants, unlike these two old decrepit souls who also live in the house with him!  Oh, we'll play, but no running for us.  Asher, our grandson, likes to chase him, giggling all the while.  And Duke loves to catch each of them--Annika, Alexa, and Asher--unawares, so he "kisses" them right on the nose.  He's so quick about it that they don't react until he's already done it!

The day after they go back home one will find Duke resting all the next day.  He's extremely quiet, napping mostly.

Apparently, he's not as young as he used to be, either.
