Thanksgiving edition: doxies as Native Americans, pilgrims, and turkeys, as well as art and memes!

It’s all about celebrating our many blessings, giving thanks, being with family and friends, our faith in God, and our traditional Thanksgiving meal. Have a wonderful holiday, and if you’re traveling, safe travels to you. Happy Weenie Dog Weensday!

YES, THEY DO!

 They certainly THINK they do! But I’ve always said that most animals are far more intelligent than we realize. Science is tapping into their intelligence and using it to improve lives. Since I know more about dogs than other creatures, I’m amazed. 

Dogs can sniff out illicit drugs

They can smell cancer, impending strokes, impending epileptic seizures. and much more

And of course you can’t hide a pill in some meat—they’ll eat the meat and spit out the pill—at least, that’s what every doxie we’ve had has done!

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love ‘em!

THE THREE ELEMENTS OF THANKSGIVING

 

THANKSGIVING

I love everything about the Thanksgiving holiday,  and I've decided that the three elements that make it memorable are:  the food, the festive table, and family and/or loved ones with which to share the first two!

Of course, first place would go to having family with us--food would be second, and the table décor would be third.  I've included some beautiful Thanksgiving tables with this post:  which is your favorite?

This year, we will be spending Thanksgiving at our daughter's home, along with her hubby, the three grandchildren, as well as another family of three.  It will be a wonderful 

I think of our military families who have loved ones far away who won't be able to come home for Thanksgiving.  Let's remember to say a special prayer for their safety and for their families who miss them so much.

Thanksgiving is all about family.  Many of us have lost family members over the years, and we miss them so much during holidays, especially.  However, as a Christian, my husband and I know that our parents are with the Lord and are enjoying things far beyond what we can even imagine down here.  What a blessed hope that is.

With Thanksgiving on the horizon, it’s finally “sweater weather” across parts of the country—so why not feature cute doxies wearing sweaters? I must say, these doxies all look adorable, and their sweaters are amazing! Such fashionistas.

NO CLUE

 I cannot imagine a world without dogs—well, most animals, really. They enrich our lives in ways that cannot be fulfilled by other mere humans—I’ve watched numerous reels and videos of foxes, meerkats, opossums, raccoons, wolves—interacting with humans in such loving ways! 

I have said for years that we have no idea of how much animals actually know and understand about us. From dolphins saving people from drowning, to dogs detecting cancer and intervening before a stroke happens, to the huge tigers, elephants, giraffes showing concern for humans, are all amazing. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for these beautiful creations.
