Dachshunds are hunters, and as you probably know, they must "KILL" every squeak toy they run across--within five minutes. They are also prone to "redecorating" the house if bored or anxious. And, sometimes, they just get into stuff they're not supposed to. My doxie Duke never chewed on anything important, thankfully. We did give him his own inexpensive flannel blankets that he loved to lick and chew, however. That satisfied his need for chewing, so when one had more holes than fabric, we'd toss it and give him another one. He loved those blankies, and often dragged them around the house and slept with them. We still miss him so much.
Here are some doxie decorators who've plied their trade at home:

"How do you like what I've done with the place?" |

"Because I hate pumpkin, that's why!!" |
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em . . . but you still might wanna strangle 'em sometimes.
