OUT WITH THE TURKEY, IN WITH THE CHRISTMAS TREE!

Hi, doxie lovers! I hope you and your friends and family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Oh, we certainly did, and I have the "food hangover" today to prove it! My daughter Holly and I shared the cooking duties, and we ate at her house. Here are a few photos of our family (minus Kurt & Bethany, who couldn't make it from AZ this year) and our food:

As you can see, we had more than enough, and I am thankful for my many blessings. And now, it's time to kick off the Christmas season! In my next post, it's all about the Christmas season, but here's a couple of pictures to get you in the mood:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING WEEK!

Image may contain: dog and text

If your family is like ours, you're running around like crazy getting ready for the Thanksgiving Day meal, family gathering, etc. You will either go out of town or have out-of-town guests in your home. November is especially busy for us because we have three family birthdays on top of Thanksgiving--in fact, today happens to be my birthday!

The Bible says "In everything give thanks." On first glance, that sounds contradictory, because it's hard to be thankful for things we perceive as bad or hurtful. It doesn't say to love everything, but to give thanks. I always try to see what I'm supposed to learn from a situation or happening. A valuable lesson in life might be hidden in there somewhere. God loves His children, and He's with us every step of the way, so that's very comforting to know.

In any case, have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends, doxie lovers.  Just as a reminder, remember these if you have dogs:

HAPPY DAWGS

Do you think dogs smile? I do--totally. When they're happy, they do smile, and these photos below prove it:

THIS EVER HAPPEN IN YOUR HOUSE?

Image may contain: text

Dachshunds are notorious for getting into things that they have no business with, but ONLY when you're not around. Question: Do they know they shouldn't, so that's why they wait until you're not there? It seems so to me. I mean, if they thought what they're doing was okay, why not just go ahead and do it in front of you?

AHHHH, COFFEE!

Image may contain: dog and text

"There are plenty of jokes about humans and their coffee. Mostly about how hard they are to get along with before they've had their coffee. I know that my humans need it badly, especially on Monday mornings before work! That's why I asked it the coffee was ready yet--not because I really wanted any for myself, mind you--but my humans turn into much nicer people after they've had their coffee. It's a selfish thing, you see. I prefer my humans sweet, not sour, like they took a bath in pickle juice."

Have a great week, doxie lovers.
