I CAN'T EVEN . . .

Image may contain: dog

The photo above is one of those that either has tons of captions coming to mind, or none at all. For me, there are so many captions for it that I don't even know where to begin!

Such as . . .

"If you think I'm going to do my business out in that deluge, forget it!"

"That stuff you just put in my food bowl is not EDIBLE!"

"I can't imagine how that pillow exploded all over the living room. I was asleep."

"If that cat licks me one more time . . ."

Well, you get the idea.

Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em!

Happy weekend, doxie lovers!!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY, DUKE!

Yes, he's our fur baby, our chow hound extraordinaire, our bossy pet, and our friend--all rolled into one sweet, stubborn, comical, and loving pet!  He has brought tons of laughter, fun, and joy to us these then years. It's hard to believe we've shared our lives with him since he was eight weeks old . . . and he's taught us so much about unconditional love.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DUKE! WE LOVE YOU.

"Like my new tail?"
Most dachshunds love the beach: there's so much to explore, they are good swimmers, and they revel in soaking up some rays. What's not to love, right?

AND HOW WAS YOUR FATHER'S DAY?

Our daughter Holly and family came Sunday afternoon to celebrate Father's Day with hubby Clark. Aaaaaaand, they brought the newest addition to their family, Sunny! She stole the show, to say the least. Our daughter Bethany and hubby Kurt are currently RV'ing in Oregon, the Pacific Northwest, so they couldn't join us. We text, call, and FaceTime all the time, however.

Here are my thoughts about Clark that I posted on Facebook for Father's Day:

Happy Father's Day  to my amazing Clark Hinton. Oh, I know you don't care for the spotlight (unlike me), but I must shine it on you now and then, anyway, especially for "your" day.
Words can't do justice to your selfless devotion to me, our family, and others. You are the calm in the storms of life, my refuge, my best friend, confidante, love of my life.
As a dad and "papa," we don't take you for granted for all you do! Your unconditional love for us is apparent when you anticipate our needs and fulfill them, be they a dozen long-stemmed red roses for me, fixing an appliance for the daughters and sons-in-law, or repairing bikes for the grands. You suffer through our laughing fits (all of us females), listen, always give of yourself and share your time generously. I treasure your integrity and your faith.
Since I'm on a roll, saying "thank you" is inadequate for your caring and leadership. I thank God He orchestrated our meeting in Frank Sandy's home on Oct. 17, 1968! We were both 20: I was a senior in college and you were a police cadet--and what a glorious life we've had! God has blessed us with a wonderful, loving family, and I thank you for sharing life with me. I look forward to our future together. I love you!!

And here are some photos from our day:

I have a similar sign hanging in my home--because it is true! Duke seems to be the one running the place around here!

How about you?

CUTE DACHSHUND PICTURES WITH CAPTIONS

I truly enjoy adding captions to funny photos, and with dachshunds, that's no exception. They are so rich in material to work with! Their facial expressions, their comical sleeping positions, their hilarious antics--it isn't difficult to come up with something.

Here are three of my latest favorites:

"And then she said that my ears were too long. MY EARS
WERE TOO LONG! Can you believe that??"

"Ever heard the saying, 'Cute as a speckled
pup?' Well, that's MEEEEEEE!"

"What you lookin' at?? Get that camera outa my face"
Dachshunds . . . you gotta love 'em, no doubt about it!
